We raised $24k!
In mid-July of 2016 we launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $20,000 by August 15th to help us open a storefront where we can serve pie, coffee, pastries and more in Old East Durham. We're delighted to announce that with the help of friends, family and community members we both met and surpassed that goal! Thank you so much!
We found a location!
In late January of 2017we signed a lease at 406 South Driver Street at the intersection of Driver Street and Angier Avenue in Old East Durham. You can read more about the history of the space here on Open Durham.
We're in the process of designing, permitting, planning, building and all sorts of other fun stuff. We're hoping for a summer opening, but keep an eye on our social media for more details!
What about my Kickstarter rewards?
Many of the rewards from our Kickstarter campaign (like baking classes and a slice of pie and coffee) are dependent on our opening the shop. There's other swag (like mugs, t-shirts, postcards, stickers, etc) that aren't dependent on the shop being open, but to simplify pick up and make sure we can properly account for rewards and their redemption, we're going to have all prizes be redeemable as soon as the shop opens. We'll mail out rewards to those of your who opted for shipping at that time as well! As with all projects of this scale, there are always delays (permitting, construction, etc.) and we really appreciate your patience and support as we try to get our shop open as quickly as possible! Keep an eye on your email account, we'll use the Kickstarter platform to send out surveys about shipping addresses and t-shirt sizes) and to keep you in the loop about progress on opening our doors!
